President’s Message – April 2018
Stay united, stay strong
Dear Samaj Members,
First of all, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the members of Panchal Samaj of Ontario for electing me as a President for the year 2018 & 2019. I am greatly esteemed for the opportunity given to me to serve the Samaj.
I would like to congratulate the newly elected Board of Directors (BODs) and Board of Trustees (BOTs). I am glad to have young as well as experienced and committed team members with the great belief in our Samaj and its social values. I sincerely thank the past committee members for their hard work and dedications in last two years. I would also like to extend my thanks to all Samaj members who have supported, by participation, volunteer work of financially, all the events organized by our Samaj all along.
In his sermon, Lord Buddha said: “Sangham Saranam Gachchhami” – means, you merge in the group (Samaj or society). Samaj is as important as a family for cultural and social development of human beings. With that thought in mind, our visionary members of the Samaj established Panchal Samaj of Ontario in 1986. Since then, Panchal Samaj of Ontario has grown steadily with the addition of new members year over year.
We would like to focus and enhance communications between BODs and the Samaj members to share their ideas and opinion. We also would like to encourage Samaj members to share their joys and sorrows, auspicious occasion and last but not least addition of new members in their family. By doing that, we would like to ensure that members experience their social ties at peak with the Samaj and consider one large strongly united family.
As we entered in the 32nd year, with outgrown Samaj members, it required tremendous effort to collect membership and organize and manage social and cultural events. The success of Samaj and its events greatly relies on members’ participation, selfless services, generous donations, and sponsorships. We hope to continue work together for the next two years to pave the social and cultural path for our next generation.
We would like to focus on youth involvement in the Samaj activities. Our vision is to elevate our Samaj involvement in cultural initiatives, outdoor activities and community services to expand our horizon and establish Samaj as a respected community in Canadian society and among other Panchal Samaj communities abroad.
Finally, I would like to say, let’s embrace our unity, values, and achievements and elevate our Samaj to new heights with hard work and social contributions.
Yours sincerely,
Hitesh Mistry
President, 2018-2019
